Summer Reading 2020: Introducing READsquared
This summer, Tomkins Cove Library is excited to introduce our new online and app based summer reading program: the READsquared app. You will be able to participate in raffles, sign up for events, and earn points by logging the books that you have read.

Get started here!

The READsquared app is supported by funds from the New York State Library’s Family Literacy Library Services Program.

To our Valued Patrons,

On August 3rd, we will finally open for browsing by appointment! It will be one household in the library at a time and you can schedule your appointment online or over the phone at (845) 786-3060. To schedule an appointment to use the computer (up to 30 minutes each day) click here. For an appointment to come browse our collection (up to 15 minutes) click here. After you have scheduled your appointment, please call us to confirm your appointment slot. Curbside pickup is still available and is encouraged for anyone who is able to use it. Masks will be required at all times inside the library. We are able to provide curbside delivery for those who cannot or choose not to wear a mask.

If you're not able to come inside, you can place a hold online, call the library at 786-3060 or email me at jlukas@rcls.org to request items. You will be able to request items from the following libraries: Central Valley, Goshen, Haverstraw, Highland Falls, Highland Mills, Middletown, Monroe, New City, Stony Point, Thiells. Valley Cottage and West Nyack. You don't need to do anything special, the materials from these libraries will automatically pop up when you do a search. If an item you want is not available from any of these libraries, you can call a library not included in this list and request a curbside pickup from them directly. As usual, we will notify you when requested items are avavilable for pick-up.

We are continuing with the summer reading program tradition.   Please sign up using ReadSquared.  For adults and teens, we will have a raffle in early September.  Just enter the books you have completed, each book counts as a raffle entry.  For kids, we have numerous take home crafts and of course beads and reading tags (new this year).

If you have suggestions or requests, please let me know.  Please stay safe.  We hope to see you all soon.
