Book Review: Me and Earl and the Dying Girl

November 24, 2015

A book I highly recommend for all young adult and teenage readers (particularly fans of John Green) is Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews. The book follows the story of Greg and his friend Earl through the difficult journey of an old childhood friend being diagnosed with leukemia. Despite the dismal theme, Andrews’ humor throughout the book, using Greg and Earl’s love for parody filmmaking as a cheerful break amid the characters’ struggles, makes it very entertaining. The book, which was recently turned into a movie by Fox Searchlight Pictures, is very popular among young adults, and is an overall enjoyable read that I would definitely recommend to anyone.
