Using Borrowed Library Items on Kindle:

Reading your borrowed Hoopla items on a Kindle is a breeze! Want to get started? Check below to find the tutorial for your device.

If using a Kindle Fire:

Search and download the Hoopla App in the Amazon App store. From there, you must sign in or create an account (check out our tutorial here for any needed assistance) with Hoopla before entering your chosen library.

Browse through the Hoopla collection for your chosen title. When you have found the item you would like to use, select the title and tap the Borrow button highlighted in blue.

Borrowed items from Hoopla will automatically sync to your Kindle Fire, so from here you may download the selected item as you wish. The item will be available for perusal until the indicated return date listed on the Hoopla App’s homescreen.

If using a Kindle Paperwhite:

While the Kindle Paperwhite and other ereaders do not allow the use of Hoopla through their services, you are still able to access your library’s ecollection through the use of Overdrive. Simply making an account through the use of your library card number allows you to browse their own extensive collection, and borrow titles to peruse on your Kindle Paperwhite or ereader. To do so, follow the instructions below.

On a computer or mobile device, sign into Overdrive, and browse for the title you would like to borrow. Once you have found it, select ‘Borrow’.

After selecting the title, choose the indicated ‘Read With Kindle’. This will redirect you to the Amazon website. Sign into your account, select the device you would like to peruse the item with, and click ‘Get Library Book’.

Be sure to allow for a wifi connection in order to download your chosen title. Similarly to the Kindle Fire, the chosen title will be removed from your device once past it’s return date.
